Is the 2027 Nissan Rogue a Good SUV for Lawrence, Kansas Drivers?

For those of you who’ve learned to love Rogues, allow us to introduce you to the new 2027 Nissan Rogue, soon to be found in Lawrence, KS. This isn’t just another year’s version of the Rogue – it’s the e-POWER hybrid, and it’s going to knock your socks off!

The gas-only versions of the 2027 Rogue won’t be released until mid-2027, and the manufacturer hasn’t yet released a lot of information on what to expect, so we’ll focus here on the e-POWER, which Nissan has moved up to late 2026 for its debut.

Nissan has sold nearly 4 million EVs worldwide over the last decade – but this e-POWER hybrid is a third-generation wonder, and is sure to leave its competition behind in the U.S. The drivetrain alone puts it in a class of its own.

The 2027 Nissan Rogue e-POWER Drivetrain

One of the most impactive features of the 2027 Rogue e-POWER is its drivetrain. The 1.5L turbocharged engine is not mechanically connected to the wheels. Instead, it acts as a generator, providing electrical current to keep the lithium-ion battery charged. Each axle has its own electrical motor, driven by an inverter – this provides a number of benefits.

• Because the wheels are driven solely by electrical motors, acceleration, deceleration, and stopping is much smoother.
• With recharging no longer a concern, there’s no need to ever stop and plug your hybrid in for charging. Range isn’t an issue – simply find a typical gas station, top off your tank and keep driving.
• There is no traditional gearshift – only a P-R-N-D selector button on the instrument panel. Your accelerator pedal is your interface. You can accelerate, decelerate, and stop via that pedal, with none of the jolts sometimes present when other hybrids’ engines engage or disengage. The new 2027 Rogue’s e-Pedal and B-Mode Regenerative Braking makes your ride smoother and contributes significantly to keeping the battery charged.
• Because the lower speeds of city/urban driving place less demand on the battery, the engine will only run occasionally. Conversely, driving at highway speeds will require the engine to run more. That results in higher gas mileage in the city – estimated to be 40 to 41 MPG, as opposed to 37 to 38 MPG on the highway. This translates to the 2027 Rogue e-POWER’s mileage being roughly 20% better than the gas-only Rogue version.

What are the Standard Features?

The SV, SR, & Platinum trims of the 2027 Rogue e-POWER come with an impressive set of standard features, providing increased safety, comfort, and performance.

• All will have the e-POWER Powertrain and AWD described above, delivering a combined 225 hp, via Nissan’s Intelligent All-Wheel Drive.
• They all also utilize Nissan’s e-Pedal with Smooth Stop. This is where the smooth stop comes from, with regenerative braking doing its job.
• The tech layout consists of dual 12.3-inch digital displays, one of which serves as the instrumentation panel, with the other handling the infotainment touchscreen.
• Additionally, all three trims feature the ProPILOT Assist Safety Suite, which consists of adaptive cruise control and lane centering, along with blind-spot warning/intervention, automatic emergency braking, rear cross-traffic alert, and driver attention monitor.
• Nissan has also included their Cold Weather Package on all three trims, which includes heat for the front seats, steering wheel and side mirrors, as well as a de-icer on the front windshield wiper.
• The standard features package is topped off with a Panoramic Moonroof, as well as Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android auto. And of course, they’ve thrown in a 15-watt magnetic wireless charger.

If that’s not enough to impress you, let’s take a look at the optional features Nissan offers on their 2027 Rogue e-POWER.

Optional Features for 2027 Rogue e-POWER

• You can upgrade to dual 14.3-inch digital displays for your Rogue’s instrument panel and infotainment screen.
• For added safety, you can opt for the Advanced ProPILOT Assist, with includes Hands-off Traffic Jam Support (hands-off driving in highway gridlock below 50 km/hr) and Auto Lane Change (this is optional on the SR, but standard on the Platinum trim).
• You may want to also consider adding the 3D Enhanced Intelligent Around View Monitor, which lets the driver see all the way around the vehicle. Especially handy for intricate maneuvering, this package also provides a “transparent” through-the-floor view.
• You can add Ventilated Front and Rear Seats to the Platinum, if you like.
• Rear Automatic Emergency Braking (Rear AEB) is another safety feature you may want to add.
• Another optional feature – exclusive to the Platinum trim – is a Heads-Up Display (HUD), which projects essential driving information onto the windshield.
• Finally, for your driving pleasure, you can add the Bose Premium Audio 10-speaker sound system which is only available for the upper tier trims.

How Much Does All This Cost?

Nissan has gone the extra mile to ensure they’re providing the best possible vehicle at the best possible price. They have recently announced the following MSRPs:

• The SV starts at $35,490, with the Premium package increasing it to $37,590.
• The SR’s MSRP starts at $37,490 – increasing to $41,490 if you add the Technology Package.
• The Platinum trim starts at $43,490.

For what you get, these prices are nothing short of amazing!
